HSF 250 Patriot Series 4" – 12" Line Stop Fittings

Hydra-Stop’s line stopping keeps the neighborhood pressurized while allowing you to isolate the water pipe or main requiring repair or maintenance. The line is stopped temporarily and the work undertaken, without disrupting pressure upstream of the stop. This is a cost-effective method of performing maintenance and repairs without incurring the risks and inconvenience associated with system shutdown.

The HSF 250 Patriot line stop fitting incorporates features that matter most to our customers — 250 psi working pressure, UL NSF 61 Classified, heavy-duty stainless steel construction and a push-and-pin completion plug system.

The HSF 250 Line stop fitting Valve is manufactured in the USA and meets requirements specified in the “Buy American Act.” Meets “Buy American” requirements. Meets "American Iron and Steel Act", “Made in USA” and “Buy America” requirements with the additional purchase of stainless steel domestic hardware.

Meeting the Highest Standards

The HSF 250 Patriot water main line stop fittings are NSF 61 and ANSI 372 certified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. to be used as a fully UL®-compliant component of water systems in the United States.

NSF/ANSI Standard 61 was established to provide minimum requirements for the control of potential adverse human health effects from products that contact drinking water. This includes criteria for testing and evaluating products to ensure they do not leach potentially harmful contaminants into the water system.

Simple Installation

Each HSF 250 Patriot fitting is factory pressure-tested and serialized for traceability before leaving our facility. The blind flange and fitting body arrive ready to be placed on the pipe for pressure testing. The nylon “push-and-pin” completion plug saves installation time and eliminates the possibility of a cross-threaded completion plug. Other time-saving features — such as integrated lifting gussets, drop-in bolts and slotted flange — make for safe, fast and simplified installations.

How It Works

The line stopping technique utilized in the Hydra-Stop System is a means of temporarily plugging a pressurized pipe without disrupting pressure or service upstream of the stop. Hot tap is first made into the main, allowing insertion of the Hydra-Stopper line-stopping device into the main under pressure. After the work is completed, the operator removes the line stop machine and attaches a completion plug under pressure.

FAQ

  • Why did Hydra-Stop change the design of the Hydra-Stop Fitting?

We changed the design of the Hydra-Stop Fitting because our customers asked for additional features and functionality. Our products now feature 250 psi working pressure, reduced installation and completion time, 100 percent stainless steel construction and improved delivery, plus they are made in the USA.

  • Why did Hydra-Stop change the completion plug?

Push-and-pin style completion plugs simplify the completion procedure by eliminating the possibility of a cross-threaded completion plug and the need to perform a “dry run.” Additional benefits of using a push-and-pin style completion plug include: reduced installation time, simplified re-stopping, and standard size completion plugs (4" to 8" fittings share a common size completion plug; 10" and 12" fittings also share a common size completion plug).

  • Is my equipment compatible with the HSF 250 Patriot line stop fitting?

Yes, your equipment is compatible with the HSF 250 Patriot line stop fitting, provided that your 8" temporary gate valve has an 8.5" bore, and your 12" temporary gate valve has a bore of no less than 12.5". All Hydra-Stop temporary gate valves manufactured in the year 2000 and later, or sent to Hydra-Stop to be bored for Insta-Valve insertion valve installation, have an 8.5" bore. The 12" temporary gate valve must have a bore no less than 12.5". Please contact your Hydra-Stop inside sales representative or regional sales manager for additional information regarding the compatibility of your temporary gate valves.

  • What if the bore of my temporary gate valve is not 8.5" or 12.5"?

Contact your Hydra-Stop inside sales representative or regional sales manager for additional information.

  • What are the available nominal sizes of the HSF 250 Patriot line stop fitting?

The HSF 250 Patriot line stop fitting is currently available in 4" to 12" nominal sizes.
